Wombats Report is good news
wombats at Cradle are a major tourism drawcard with
thousands of visitors seeking the thrill of getting
close to "cute & cuddly" Australian wildlife. PWS
with the assistance of Wildcare have been monitoring
the main populations at Ronny Creek and near the
Park entrance since Nov 2016 to ascertain health,
numbers and visitor impact.

is to advise that road works will be undertaken on
the Cradle Mountain Road in the Cradle Mountain-Lake
St Clair National Park between the 5th-30th March.
passing bays will be constructed between the Park
Entrance boom gate and Ronny Creek to provide for
the safe passage of larger shuttle buses to meet
increasing visitor demand and to comply with new
ensure the safety of road workers and to minimise
traffic congestion on this narrow road, there will
be restrictions on the number of private
vehicles entering the park between 8.30am and 4pm.
will be no changes to the shuttle bus operations,
however visitors should expect short delays enroute
to/from Dove Lake of up to 15 minutes.
Snake Hill bus stop will also be temporarily closed
for approximately 1 week whilst the adjacent passing
bay is constructed.
